Will An Order Of Protection For A Year Keep A Narcissist Away?

Probably not.
Narcissists are notorious for violating protective orders. They think rules and laws don’t apply to them.
But it’s a good idea to have an order of protection in place. It’ll make it easier for the police to charge him.
And it protects you in case you have to take extreme actions against him.
Since narcissists have an inflated sense of entitlement, and because people are objects to them, he sees you as his property.
He feels like it’s his right to take possession of something he owns.
And in his mind, that’s you.
Another thing that narcissists are notorious for is lying to law enforcement and blaming the true victim.
A protective order will provide clarification to the arresting officers and keep you from being wrongly charged.
I’ve had protective orders in place for years, and my Malignant Narc ex has violated every one of them.
Honestly, they’re more for your own legal protection than for your personal safety.
My advice is to have a safety plan in place, and stick to it.
Be extremely careful and don’t let your guard down.
Arm yourself with whatever weapon is available to you, and don’t be afraid to use it.
